The city of Vogtsburg, the heart of the Kaiserstuhl, is the biggest wine-growing community in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Vogtsburg has an acreage of 3.740 hectare and thereof 1.400 hectare vine-acreage. There are 6 winemaker-associations and over 30 wineries. The mild climate, the precious loess ground and the volcanic stone are the secret of the huge fertility and make the wine that characteristic. Autumn is the time of the harvest and for the guests a good chance to help cutting the grapes. In Vogtsburg there are a huge number of vintage festivals which invites everyone to join the wine and atmosphere of this unique region.
